Trying to remove the handbrake lever, which seems pretty straightforward but I'm just not getting it.

Even the Haynes manual makes it sound like a cinch.

I've pulled the clip from the pin (screw?) that holds the cable but thats as far as i can go.

The pin won't pull out or unscrew.

Plus the bolt holding the lever into the long is flush to the lever so whats the trick to removing that?

Take your seat out it makes it a lot easier to get to everything.Just take out the bolt that goes into the long then the equalizer should be able to be taken off one side and then the other.If you can't get the equalizer off loosen the adjusters underneath behind the firewall.
