Should say 2, 3 and D if it is the 4 speed. You won't see a "1". Shifting into 2nd twice get's you 1st and 2nd...seems weird but that is how it works.

I will let ya know cause I didn't look too closely at that. I was busy scrutinizing the rest of the car and felt that point was kind of trivial.

Many oil leaks are difficult/expensive to fix. I have drips of ATF from trans and 90wt from diff. on my car. I just live with them. Minor engine leaks are not worth fixing either unless gasket/seal is accessible. Most aren't. Oil is cheap.

Listen carefully for any bearing noise from the drive train. The torque tube connecting the engine to the rear transaxle has bearings which wear out. Can be an expensive fix.

I have a bias against color change Porsches. I would keep looking. You should be able to find a car with 100K or less with a good history for $5-8000. They are hard to sell so you often can look at several and the first one will still be there when you come back.

Yeah, my search continues (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I am not in a real hurry so the one I purchase will be gud and color change is bad in my book. Too bad the car was pretty nice? oh well another day.
