The fixture installs over a good stud, the side screws center the empty hole on the damaged stud and the fixture serves as a guide for re-drilling. Btw, this tool is NOT for type 4 heads. The fixture does NOT fit in the exhaust port recess.

If some clever machinist member could make a similar fixture for T-4 heads I bet they would sell. The drill hole accepts different sized guides making step up studs a breeze while helping keep the the bit at a right angle. I only know about the one pictured as it was in my garage for a bit.
