I have been thinking about repainting the top of my car and have seen tops with a flat black smooth finish and others with a textured finish. Were both original options and is there any advantage of one vs the other or is it more of a personal preference?
Thanks for any input/suggestions |

I think the textured finish looks better if you use the targa vinyl. Smooth looks good if you go vinyl free but is a lot of work to make it look nice.

I think the textured finish looks better if you use the targa vinyl. Smooth looks good if you go vinyl free but is a lot of work to make it look nice. The texture on my top was fine but the paint had worn thin, so I just re-painted it with Krylon Satin Black (<$4 a can at Walmart). Took about 4 coats to get it right, but I am pleased with the end result. Attached thumbnail(s) |
