The original FS ad for may car referenced that it was purchased from Craig at Camp 914 back in 2010. After speaking with Craig, we could not find any history on that on his website.

Today I stumbled across this old 914World thread on a Google Search and there she is with that sexy Vitaloni mirror set up.

It is my desire to close the ownership loop on this car. At present, everyone is accounted for except owner #3, but I haven't had the time to continue my search.

Also need to verify with owner #4 that he did indeed sell the car through Camp 914 to owner #5. I am owner #6 as best I can tell.

Vin is registered in the database 3x including owners 4 & 5 as well as myself.

Have you tried sending an info request to DMV for them to search their records & microfilm archives?

You get their info request form from their website's forms section, fill it out & attach a check for the appropriate amount per the instructions, mail them of, & then ....

Well, really more like .... They are slow, but will eventually get you an answer & documents, assuming that they have any.

Some of the delay involves the manual searching, as well as that they contact prior owners for approval to release their info or not (IIRC the send redacted address info & names if permission not given).

It's hard to say whether the 3 go all the way back to day one when sold new, from what's in the registry, & it would have to have been the OO who first joined the site here to have all owners covered.

First guy joined here in 2006
Second guy joined here in 2010
Third guy (the current owner) joined here in 2017

Owner #2 also contacted '75-2000 Portland, OR-Seattle, WA
Owner #3 ?? or more 2000-2006 Seattle , WA???
Owner #4 2006-2010 Portland, OR now in San Diego (will meet up when resto is complete) (1st guy in the Vin database)
Owner#5 2010-2017 Portland, OR to Santa Cruz, CA (2nd guy in the VIN database)
I am believed to be Owner #6 (3rd guy in the VIN database)

I guess, but plan to call owner #4 again in San Diego this week to see if I can get details from him on where he picked up the car. Owner #2 traded the car into a local Mercedes dealership called Barrier Motors in Bellevue, WA that was bought over by Auto Nation in 2014 and the trail goes cold from there.
