I had to upgrade my roll bar padding from the old Auto style to the new SFI style...

got me thinking that I wanted to do my own fire testing...
(I guess its fun to play with matches)

So I tried to lite a scrap piece of the padding to see what would happen.

pretty impressive. It could/did catch on fire while your holding a flame to it. But as soon as you move the flame away it would go out. No doubt it could burn, but did not become sticky, stringy... and wouldn't stick to your skin like melting plastic usually does.

I put 3 or 4 matches to it just to inflict this minimal damage:
