CIS to EFI Conversion Kit
a guy on the 911 List asked about this kit, which was news to me. although it's called a "complete kit" it's also called a CIS to EFI complete kit. i see an OXS, i see some hoses and wires. i don't see a throttle body or fuel pump so i presume those are retained from the CIS. are there electric injectors that will happily, reliably take the CIS 4Bar pressure? i'm not seriously considering this for any of the cars in the current fleet, but i know there are more than a few guys looking at CIS engines for conversions... anybody know about these guys ? |

Hmm, interesting, never heard of them. It would be nice to be able to convert CIS to a stand alone system though. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

this guys kit was posted here about a month ago...so far no one here has used it as far as I know.....he does show what appears to be a fuel pressure regulator, so mabey that deals with the fuel pressure issues....
looks like a decent setup for those that do not want to do the homework involved to do the MS by themselves depending on his tables and motor used, one should be able to install this without any major tuning....of course a trip to the dyno or use of a wideband wouldn't be a bad idea... |

Been mentioned on the board before.
The EFI injectors don't use the full 4-bar CIS pressure. There's a fuel pressure regulator included to drop the pressure to the roughly 3 bar pressure they like to use. The CIS fuel pressure regulator is built into the fuel distributor, so it can't be used even if the higher pressure were used. The FPR is that fuel filter looking thing with the L-shaped bracket attached. $1600 is a touch expensive for what he's providing, but it doesn't appear to be too bad a kit. |

I think that kit is pretty popular among the bird-board taildraggers...
