California plates original free and clear comes with original 73 and 74 sticker you choose which year car you have and registered with DMV super cool.....sold

If you remove the 1974tag, you’ll probably find a 1972 tag. Those plates would have been issued to a late ‘71 or ‘72..

If you remove the 1974tag, you’ll probably find a 1972 tag. Those plates would have been issued to a late ‘71 or ‘72.. Actually there going on a early “74”. These are indeed the correct series for a '73 / early '74 car. The '73 series plates are letters G-K and possibly early L. However many plates were not used until later into the year if they were shipped to smaller, regional DMV offices. Congrats on acquiring this set of period correct plates!
