In the process of this exact thing. I spoke with Barry Hershon yesterday and he quoted $1200 which included rebuilding, re-curving and removing/blocking off the vacuum advance/retard can and was insistent that I switch from the stock Bosch CDI to an MSD system for another $300.
Got an email from Aaron this morning. His price is $595 to rebuild, re-curve and block off the vacuum port. Also contacted Partsklassic and the guy in Utah (whose name isn't coming to me) and haven't heard back. Seems like there are fans of all of the places mentioned and a few detractors for some. Trying to decide if it's worth $600-$1200 to do this... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |
