So been going through the new to me 1975 1.8l and noticed I did not have turn signals or a hazard light. Replaced the relay, nothing. Decided to pull the hazard switch and it came out in pieces with the ground side not even connected. . I assume that like old school Christmas lights, if the hazard switch is not connected then the turn signals will not work bc they are working off the same relay? I’ve found wiring diagrams for the proper hook up of the switch and will try to re assemble the one i have but not sure if there are pieces missing or not. Got a new used one on the way just in case.
Any insight would be appreciated. John. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Hazzard switch won't cause the turnsignals to not operate. Check fuses 9 and 11.

If the fuses are ok then it could be a bad flasher relay which is located behind the instrument panel near the fuse panel. You will probably need to remove the fuse panel to get to the flasher relay.

Jeff B Checked and replaced fuses and flasher, still no signal or hazard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) could it be the turn signal switch on the column? -John |

FIXED!
FYI. It was the hazard light switch. Mine was in pieces and the turn signal did not work. Bought a new used one and Mátales and it works like a charm. |
