under the fender is a u-shaped bracket with a nut (10mm I think) attaching it to a stud on the housing. Remove the nut, pull off the bracket, and then the housing will lift out from the front.

You can purchase a newly cleaned and plated u shaped bracket from Bruce. That will save you some time.
