Working on my transmission now and I lack the expertise to know if parts (syncros, slider, and dog teeth) are still serviceable.

Just wondering if everyone just replaces everything while they're in there. I know it's expensive, but is it worth the cost just to ensure I don't put bad parts back in?

I found AutohauzAZ to have some of the best prices. Does anyone have a better parts supplier recommendation?

I would take the gear stack to someone who knows transmissions. It should save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

My transmission internals were evaluated once the case was opened. It required a main bearing, 1st reverse slider, 1st gear teeth and all 5 synchros. 1st/reverse slider and all synchros are available from Porsche direct. Other Genuine NOS parts are out there as well if you want to go in that direction.
