Working on my transmission now and I lack the expertise to know if parts (syncros, slider, and dog teeth) are still serviceable.
Just wondering if everyone just replaces everything while they're in there. I know it's expensive, but is it worth the cost just to ensure I don't put bad parts back in? I found AutohauzAZ to have some of the best prices. Does anyone have a better parts supplier recommendation? |

Another data point.
I did replace everything....likely the most you could do. Converted to side shifter, 904 mainshaft, all new close ratio gears, 930 LSD, synchros, bearings, seals etc. 901 gearbox will handle +300hp. I know this is the far end of the spectrum. Parts alone were about $9k. Final tab up to your imagination. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
