2258? Gold foil seal? Just do a web search for raby 2270 and you'll see it's his favorite build and listed on his website right now... aircooled technologies.

Zig-n-zag (aka 2258 gold foil guy). Are you in Hawaii right now? Do you have the Raby motor that's listed on the Samba for $20,000? Did you factor in deck height when you did your math for 2258?

The engine is my 2,270cc. l use a 78.4mm crank, which achieves the additional displacement above 2,258cc.

Mark,

The link is not right for me, or it it takes me to the wrong place. Thinking of this engine for my 70 car.

Bob,

If you need convincing, I'd be happy to take you for a ride in my Raby-powered 914 but it's in the shop this week for clutch tube repair. Zandstra would owe me a beer for the sales commission though! Hell, I might buy this just to have a spare...

Not sure what happened with that link, Bob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ... I meant to post a link back to post #6 in the thread that showed the what motor's displacement was.

I’m in Orange County (Laguna Niguel) but most of the time the car is in Fontana. It’s here in OC with me this week though. PM me, I’d be happy to take you for a spin.
