For sale is this 1972 914
Garage kept since the '80s and driven 1 time in the last 7-8 years, due to my fathers alzhimers.
The car has been repainted in the early 90s and looks great, with the original paint showing off in the engine bay. All the wires, clips, hoses and engine parts are neat and in proper looms and clips. I believe the exhaust has been replaced with stainless steel. The interior seems to be flawless.
Last year, a member and I test drove the car, and went over and photographed all of its known flaws and issues. We removed the battery and tray, rocker covers, spare tire, trunk carpet, etc and gave the car a thorough inspection.
Since then, a gas line cracked under the tank and caused gas fumes in the garage so Thanksgiving day we removed the gastank. With this knowledge I am fearful of test driving the car until all hoses are inspected or replaced.
Known issues are: paint bubbles at 1 healite area, gas lines, hell hole has been repaired with fiberglass, the drivers jack point is badly rusted, and rust damage under the spare tire.
The car drives straight, brakes work good, the engine has no known issues.
I will work with a potential buyer to run the car and inspect it in every way.
Many pics are available, including requests.
$9500. Obo

I am the member that inspected this car. I can answer questions. I will say the car was in great shape, very clean. Started with no fuss and drove normal, brakes were very good.
