The yellow/orange 914 was at Lime Rock when I was attending their Skip Barber open wheel formula school. This was in 1996.
The white one was at a vintage race at Lime rock in I believe this was
‘05 or ‘06. Anyone here?
Glenn’s IMSA thread had me searching for pics.
Enjoy.

The white 914-6 was a familiar sight at vintage races at Lime Rock. I don’t know the owner but I believe that it had a 2.7 or 2.8. It was nicely turned out.

I would help a friend at the Vintage Fall Festival with his Lola Mk 1. Haven’t attended in the past couple of years as it was the weekend my daughter would return to college. There was always a bunch of the old PCA Group there. Good times.

That’s cool Charlie. I’ve been to most of the fall festivals since ‘94.
Missed ‘98 and ‘01 due to the birth of my children, Heheh and missed last years
because of colleges now. :-)

Love the IMSA cars Glenn!

My son meeting Sir Sterling Moss a couple years back. What a gracious and very cool fella.
What a legend.

the yellow car is stickered to indicate it also is a club race pca car
neither show markings to indicate that they were imsa cars
they both look to be PCA cars... very different race history than IMSA

I bought some parts recently from the white car
car is still running, but the guy is getting older and downsizing his spares
his grandson is selling things on facebook from that cars spares

Hi Brant, I knew they weren’t IMSA cars. I was referring to Glenn’ thread as inspiration
for looking for old race pics. I sent Glenn some of the pics I had from
Pocono IMSA days in the ‘80’s.
I was just wondering if anyone knew who ran the orange one as I never had a chance to
meet the driver. .

I may have posted this one before:

I remember the yellow 914 racecar. Brant is right that it was run in PCA club racing. I think the builder/driver's name was Tony, but I don't remember the last name. I recall it being nicely done.

And the blue one from Pocono is Doug Arnao's Fiero-based tube frame car. It did come up in another thread a while back. Charlie will remember the car too. Very cool car. Double wishbone suspension with inboard shocks at all four corners. IMSA made 914s illegal around 1987, and it didn't get to race much there. Doug converted it for SCCA GT2 and won a lot of races with it.

Cool pics - thanks for sharing!

A different type of mid-engine. Anyone remember the Cart PPG Porsche Indy project?
After the Quaker state livery the following year sported Fosters.
It never took to the track the day I was at Nazareth. Teething problems
Teo Fabi in the back wearing the white overalls

Cool car. Note the Porsche crest on the nose. Maybe Porsche powered too? Do you recall the track and year?

Scott,
It was a Lime Rock vintage race back I want to say 2011.
I remember the fella saying that EMPI had a hand in building them.
He only knew of 7 that were fully constructed. I’m not sure of type of power plant
but my note on back of pic said 914 trans-axle and suspension pieces.
Oh and not a Porsche crest but ... a crest...

I googled the Crusader, and came up with more pics of the same car and a bit of background. Sounds like a small run of them was built around 1964. They had VW engines and some Porsche running gear. Brakes and trans were mentioned, but maybe they used Porsche suspension too. In 1964 it would've most likely been 356 parts, but maybe they got early 911 stuff?

That's a Lincoln crest. I had the same piece on the hood of my '47 Lincoln.
