Just tried to make reservations and the desk jockey said he didn't have our group up and he wanted to charge me more - then recommended I call back when the group is set up otherwise I wouldn't get the discount. Kind of a jerk about it too... ask for anyone except Cory.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) There was actually an issue with the group reservation. I hope it's fixed now. Thanks for letting me know! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Mechanically inclined people talk to me. 2.0 with great running Dellortos. At 620 feet MSL. How will these carbs react to that altitude. Will I need to rejet half way up the mountain ? My Weber 44 idf carbs are jetted for sea level. The highest I have had my car was Sandia peek in New Mexico. That was 10'600 ft above sea level. It started fine and ran OK as long as I kept the revs up a bit when idling. YMMV. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

My Raby 2270cc four w/dual 44 IDF carbs are also tuned for sea level. A few weeks ago while driving @ 7,000 ft (Flagstaff, AZ) they started acting funny but like Elliot said, just keep the Rev's up and you should be okay. I honestly didn't consider the high altitude prior to Route 66 event and glad I didn't field rejet. My back up was having mgp4591 (Mike) help me out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Oscar |

Eight hundred and eighty eight miles. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Why don't we have this thing in Utah anymore? You know... That's where the red rocks are. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Hey, at least its closer to Utah than the last couple years! Maybe I can convince someone else in this state to actually DRIVE their 914 with me the whole way this year! If Jim is in, and has a running car, I'm in. It's like 14 hours? I'd probably stay in SLC and pick up Michael Phillips and Eric Shea for the last bit... You guys both in? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I’ve got two Subies in the driveway. Fairly economical car with AWD that keeps the kids safe. Wife drives a BMW Xdrive, me? Big old truck for a daily. I’m talking about jcd914. In the more than a decade I’ve known him, he’s only had one running 914. He sold it. He's got a nice roller and all the parts he needs so... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I should have my 914 running by then but I have said that before. I made great progress the last few months trying to get it together for WCR but I still have a way to go. As far as Red Rocks, I'll be at Laguna Seca in Monterey that weekend for the races. Campsite and tickets paid for last November, if I don't pay in advance they won't hold my site year after year. It is an event I want to do and I really like the locations this year. Jim |
