If Jim is in, and has a running car, I'm in. It's like 14 hours? I'd probably stay in SLC and pick up Michael Phillips and Eric Shea for the last bit... You guys both in? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) I'm already signed in - still driving the Subie but I'll be there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You mean the donor Subie right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I just hope Jim gets his car running... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) I think Jim's car is running well now and my donor Subie is safe in my driveway... my regular ride is also a Subie. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I’ve got two Subies in the driveway. Fairly economical car with AWD that keeps the kids safe. Wife drives a BMW Xdrive, me? Big old truck for a daily. I’m talking about jcd914. In the more than a decade I’ve known him, he’s only had one running 914. He sold it. He's got a nice roller and all the parts he needs so... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I should have my 914 running by then but I have said that before. I made great progress the last few months trying to get it together for WCR but I still have a way to go. As far as Red Rocks, I'll be at Laguna Seca in Monterey that weekend for the races. Campsite and tickets paid for last November, if I don't pay in advance they won't hold my site year after year. It is an event I want to do and I really like the locations this year. Jim JIM!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Never mind, I knew that. I just didn’t know it was the same weekend. Too bad, this looks like a cool event this year! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) It is more a social event that my wife and I have been doing for years. Our little group now have 4 adjacent campsites that overlook part of the corkscrew. A lot of food and drink and my wife likes it, which is important. I plan to do RRC sometime soon but it is a bit farther than WCR has been for us. Jim |

I'M out, have eye surgery scheduled for 10 Sept. Well maybe next year and I'll be able to see better. Just have to keep the car running for another year.

I plan to be there but only if my car is done. No good reason it shouldn't be. Barring me saying screw it all & deciding to go with a different motor entirely. I keep changing & upgrading stuff. Shouldn't be anything else but straight cash going out of my pocket (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . Would be a little easier to swallow if my truck didn't just blow a hole in it's block. Would sure be nice to drive my 914 right now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Suggestion from a local for a day-long road trip, mostly on two lane, all paved. Fruita to Gateway on I-70/141 with a stop at the world class auto museum at Gateway Canyons Resort. On to Naturita on the 141 Scenic Byway, then 90/46 to Paradox CO and LaSalle UT. Up 191 to Moab, then the River Road (128) to Cisco and I70 back to Fruita.
That'll get folks their UT fix and if you can't see enough Red Rocks, you're hopeless. |

It is beautiful country. Different kind of beauty than good old Oregon. Drives are great & besides being in Moab. It isn't as crowded everywhere |
