Only guessing but 2.2t strong motor with headers and carb upgrade ,bum seat feels like it after many cars built in this HP range, reckon 135hp,works for me fine.

Interesting conversation here. I’m with ya I couldn’t imagine taking my 2056 up to 6k maybe 5k. I generally shift right at about 4000 to 4500 high side. Y’all better hope Jake doesn’t come around here callin’ out pussies... drive it like you stole it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) Jake actually told me to shift around 4200. I generally shift in the mid 4000 range. Power starts to drop off after that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Those that don't drive like that baffle me but I do understand just the cruzing mentality.. Just not entirely my thing. |

Up until that range you see the substantial increases in torque and HP in relation to increased RPM. After that point, you begin see limited return in HP and lower torque. So while it is fun to rev it up to 6K+ but that time would be better spent in the area of the curve where your torque and HP increasing with RPM. But I could be wrong. |

Your torque # seems to max out there, so acceleration in that gear would then start to decrease. But when you shift up it will be much lower wheel torque due to the gear. Most of us would go for the higher RPM and more fun. I'm sure Jake built the motor to deal with it. |

Hi What are you getting and from what size and spec aircooled engine ? I'll start My 1911cc with mild cam and twin 40 Dellortos, 050 distributor and Bursch exhaust gave 115bhp last time it was on the rollers 325-350 est. 3.6/6 modded. Makes beautiful noise at 6800 rpm. Details in signature. |

My 1911cc with mild cam and twin 40 Dellortos, 050 distributor and Bursch exhaust gave 115bhp last time it was on the rollers I have pretty much the exact same set up, but with Webers instead of Dellortos. Haven't dyno'ed it ever, but the butt sensor says around 100bhp. Zero to 60 is.. well... not something we need to talk about here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

How does one go about finding out torque and HP? Are there any shops that do this in the northern LA area? What does it cost?
I have a stock 1.7L, but it would be nice to know how close I am to the factory numbers. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) That is my setup as well but I'm getting exactly zero hp out of my engine. I think the problem might be lack of compression due to a 1,000 mile gap between my heads and cylinder tops. Hopefully soon the heads will come home from Sonoma and I can fix that. What pistons are you guys running? I was guessing that with euro flat tops, the mild cam, Weber 40IDFs and the Bursch that I'd be making around 110 hp? My goal is to be able to spank all the smug bicyclists around here in 0-60. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |
