Hi,
Looking for someone to do an objective PPI of a car in Oceanside,CA. I'll be happy to pay your expenses. I've seen lots of photos but the dealer is more of a Jaguar shop so I need someone who really knows 914s. PM me. http://classicshowcase.com/index.php/inventory/detail/424 Many thanks! Didn't find the asking price. How much for this conversion?

Looks like a pretty nice conversion. Not so sure about the Bilstein rear brakes..... would love to know what they are asking. Best of luck with the PPI and hopefully you can negotiate a terrific price and get this in your garage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

My eyes glaze over and the brain fog settles when all of these ads go into the 914/Volkswagon back story. It's always nice to be reminded the top can be removed and stores in the rear boot. I had forgotten that.

Asking is $70k. Thoughts? last listed owner of that VIN 4732909506 is hot shoe_914, so I would try and get in contact with them for info. personally, I would not pay $70K for a non-original, non-numbers matching conversion. that really seems out of line, but again it's my personal thoughts and at the end of the day if you feel after you have a PPI done[u] and you see the value in the car then get it and drive it like you stole it.. good luck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Asking is $70k. Thoughts? Love it, but only as a comparable, as I have a '72 conversion with a 3.2. It does take a lot of cash to do a conversion right, and the prices for the parts keep going up and up. Kinda crazy! There's another conversion in Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/914-6-Tribute/1628...6Zz&vxp=mtr Similar look, apparent similar build, although a 2.4 It is asking $55k, so the $70k is a bit outlandish (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

I have sold nine different six conversions, 2.0 six 2.7,3.0.3.2 and a 3.6. All really nice conversions, done well. And great driving cars. Prices were $24000 to $36000.
I would personally rather own a conversion, than an Orignal six. Just the addition of a larger motor is huge. You have a hard time keeping your foot out of the gas. I feel that the price that is being asked is above the real market value. Craig at CAMP |

IMHO, that's too much for a conversion and on par with a real six with nonmatching numbers. . I think you can find a real six, medium condition, in the price range of $75-85 K. Certainly a better investment even if you have to do a little work.

If you still want some local eyes on this let me know. I'm pretty close to Oceanside.
