Is the tangerine color used on early 914's the same as Phoenix Red used on 73-74 cars? The color looks the same to me, but what do I know, I'm color blind.

Thanks,
Greg

They are not the same. Been a while since I’ve seen tangerine in person but the biggest difference I remember is that Phoenix red actually looks red in low light/at night. During the day they are similar with tangerine being lighter.

tangerine / blood orange or L21E on the cars 70-72 had more red in it,

phoenix red or L32K on cars 73-74 has more yellow in it

Nepal orange L20C returned to having more red in it but still not as red orange as the original tangerine
