EDIT - SOLD

EDIT - PRICE LOWERED to $350

For Sale: Porsche 911 (914/912) Bilstein Front Struts

Pair in good condition (very stiff) with minor wear. One shaft has a ding in it, but it's very high up - don't think it would ever come close to the seal.

isn't there a part # stamped or cast into the housing body?
Curious as I have a set that came on my Creamsicle.
I replaced them with Boges that were refinished but my intent was to restore them & replace. No idea where to find seals though.

Almost certain(99%) these are 914-4. Look on spindle to the left of numbers, there should be a VW stamp. The V is in the middle of the W in a circle. I just checked the -4 Bilstein left spindle I have and it said 12 C 6. To the best oF my knowledge Bilstein never made 3" spaced 911 struts.

911 struts (and 914-6) have a curved arm that holds the tie rod. 914-4 struts have a straight arm.

Hey Terry,

I'm sorry, I simply forgot to get them out. You haven't messaged me or anything since you sent payment, so your statement sounds like you've been messaging me for tracking, but I haven't gotten any messages from you since you sent your payment, and none are in my inbox asking about shipping or tracking info.

I'll get them out today, and again, apologize.

Hi Guys... I'm reviving this thread in hopes of getting more info on these front struts.
I bought them from Greggearhead about 8 months ago & need to know if they were only available on certain 914 models, such as the LE, or were offered as optional equipment such as the sway bars, etc., on certain year models ? Not really sure what I have here & need to find out if they have replaceable inserts like the Boge struts, or are rebuildable using seals ? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks... TerryAttached Image

They have replaceable inserts. Knock the cap off the top with a punch. It should come off easily. Don’t damage it, you will reuse it. Knock the roll pin out located near the bottom of the shock, it holds the insert in the shock. If the insert won’t slide out, tap the shaft with a narrow punch using the hole at the very bottom of the shock.

Available on all 914 models from 1973 on. As long as they are pushed out fully, they should be good to go. Best to stroke them several times be fore installing.
