Tentatively Don-6 wants to organize a border to border run, or at least a moving WCR for 2020 to allow more folks to participate. We were looking at making a special Tran border badge or something like that. Not having a 2019 WCR really makes no sense. If you don;t want to come to build a bigger budget for 2020 I get it but worst case we have Rob in back up for Reno / Tahoe. area. It's beautiful country. We just want to give the SoCal guys a chance to put something together. In my opinion it's time to go back down that way, but we need someone to step up. That's why I keep bumping the thread. See my previous post on this thread. I threw my hat in the ring for the routing here in SoCal, but need some co-organizers to step up. I also volunteer with PCA and have put together and led on several drives. Doesn't' matter if you are from NorCal or SoCal to help out with some of the other elements. Never been on a WCR so can't say what is involved with respect to restaurants, hotels & other activities. If it ends up being Tahoe, that's cool too! I would love-love-love for it to go to SoCal. Do you know MikeD? Leaman? They have experience. Everyone knows @Mike D but not sure they're going to want to deal with two WCRs in a row. I'll talk to some of the guys at the 914 Cone Zone on Saturday and see what the consensus is. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |

I like Tahoe for 2019, but I also have a crazy question... is Truckee or Tahoe City on the radar?

Sounded like @914_7T3 wanted to give it a try.
you'll need to pick a location and find the dates that work. Generally late May early June have been the time period. Typically Thursday people start rolling in Friday has a drive and a no hosted dinner. Saturday has a show n shine possibly a tech session, and a drive. Culminates with a dinner typically has an included in price portion. this last year we had a $20 credit that could be used to order whatever they wanted. Tshirts will generate some revenue. Drives are nice, autocross would be cool if it could be worked in reasonably. Really depends on your local contacts. I'm willing to help where I can. PM me if you want any observations I have, I'm sure Rob could talk some on the subject also. It's some work, but it's fun too. |

Thanks for the general overview @Mikey914 and will definitely reach to get more details on past events. Had the opportunity to get a couple of others on board for planning WCR19 in SoCal including myself @SocalAndy & @ValcoOscar Would love to have one or two other assist as needed. If we can have the blessing of the 914World Community, we are ready to Go! Please chime in to let us know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Blessing? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) You don't know this crowd. They love events. Especially the events that others are hosting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Good choice on helpers. Don't stop at Mark. You need to contact every vendor and then be sure to mention, in print, those that did support your event. In fact, I have a couple of nice items to donate for the raffle that @Larmo63 will not be eligible for. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

I was hoping that we may go a but further south, but Tahoe works too. Still open just need an organizer I was hoping this as well.....I thought Temecula was great....The wineries while not as good....have some great drives. Was hoping Oscar would step up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) If Oscar steps up I'll assist. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif) @ValcoOscar has stepped up, so its official! @76-914 can be one of the two assists we are looking for. |

Thank you! If you need advice, don’t hesitate to ask. I’ve done a couple of these and they aren’t as hard as they appear...

"Colorado in 2020" It has a ring to it, doesn't it? I think it's Colorado 420 not 2020 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) . Besides there is already Silver Summit, and most of the Red Rocks events there |

I like the idea of a national 914 event in Colorado to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
I'm willing to miss the WCR and Route 66 events in 2020 if someone organizes this. |

Now back to 2019.
When can we expect an official announcement for the 2019 WCR? Dates, locations and hotel? I’m making my vacation plans for the year and would like to ink this in. |

I thought Jeff was working on this and was going to make an announcement latef on this month or next.
That is what I heard at the Holiday Lunch here. I like Don's idea. Scrap all three events next year and do a national thing. |
