Sounds like a bunch of $ but NOS is NOS. few and far between. Perfection comes at a cost.

Just my 2 cents, and I feel your 'price pain', but consider that the seller thinks of it as a return on his investment made many years ago. . . That is the dilemma of rare, unavailable NOS and perfect parts for all makes of cars.. . I'm sure you've watched 914 prices climb over the years [for cars as well as parts]. . It hasn't slowed down and isn't going to subside unless original manufacturers begin reproducting exact OE / OS parts again. . Until then, the alternative is the current repops which seem to share a fitment issue. . IMHO,what may be considered unreasonable today is going to seem like a deal in the not too distant future. I had to fork out almost Rich's current price to HPH 7 years ago for one NOS Hella tail light. . He was the only person I found willing to break a NOS set and he charged a premium for it. What is overlooked is that the collective 'we' are involved in a car that was produced for only 6 years and in what is actually limited numbers. . This isn't like an early Camaro or Mustang where exact OE replacement items are flooding the market. |

The right side is harder to find....
They get cracked/punted, etc, when owners back up and ignore things situate on the right. As great as the visibility is, in these cars, there is always a "duh" moment. I am pretty sure that I have a right side, NOS, that I looked for, for years...in a box.... BUT I doubt I would sell it for less than $400..., just cause the right is so hard to find, and "dear"... |

As tool guy says "what may be considered unreasonable today is going to seem like a deal in the not too distant future". Case in point, two years ago I passed on NOS in the box for $500 for the PAIR! Yes pair, at the LA Swap meet and I thought it was ridiculous. Hmm... I shoulda bought 'em. Best of luck in your search (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |
