I bought a new connection rod from another 914 member. (Thanks Bruce)

I just got around to installing it and I think I might need some help. I bought it because my original would pop off the connection point. Not the back of the pedal, but the linkage. I installed the new one and am still having the same problem.

My question is... is there something I'm missing? Is the throttle cable too tight? It the linkage worn?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Terry

What does it feel like when you attach the rod to the ball ? IIRC, you should feel or hear a snap. I don’t think it can be done without pliers or vice grips. Grease the cup an ball first.....

It does click on. But then comes off easily. I have not used grease, I will try that as well. It is tough to click on, but can be done without pliers/vice grips.

What about adjusting the length of the rod. What effect will that have?
