I've been sitting on a 75 914 for almost 3 years. (Kids, work, time, etc.) Getting ready to get back to work on it and ordering parts I ended up back on the forums and found this thread. Just spent probably 3 or 4 hours reading the whole thing. Awesome thread, awesome build. How heartbreaking it was to see it almost on the road and not get it going for almost 4 years. Jerry your progress updates and attention to detail was truly so interesting. This build could've been a movie LOL. Matt I wish I had a quarter of your skills and knowledge. I'll be reading the 911Tesla build thread next. That thing is truly gorgeous.

Where is this car listed for sale?

@mfor1000
@jerhofer
Matt, congratulations on the sale. I hope it hit your target range. It seemed to be a strong sale for a very top tier build. (I did wonder if all the gyrations in the economy/stock market would impact your pool of buyers).
Please let us know if the new owner would be willing to share the details of the transmission mods and custom shifter parts with this community, to allow other to follow your lead.
Thanks and again congratulations. Let us know what area of the country your car ends up in?

Congratulations! An absolutely beautiful car that commanded a high price. Glad to see it is going to be in the SF Bay Area; maybe I will see it in person one day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The buyer is planning on taking the 914 to the Porsche Parade in Oklahoma City this summer.

More news. If you read the comments on the auction, after the bidding was over, one guy told the winning bidder, a friend of his, that he had an interesting trade for the 914. Well, they made a deal. He traded a 993 hotrod on the 914.

The guy is flying in to Charlotte on the 27th to pick up the car. He is then driving it to Richmond, VA where a friend has a chassis dyno. Not sure what they are going to do there, but, from there, he is driving it back home to Oklahoma.
