Hello,
I just found a 75 914 that has not been driven for 18 years. I would love to find an experienced fuel injection person to check it out. I live in Western North Carolina but do not mind traveling a reasonable distance.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob not an expert but have some pretty good working knowledge of the FI. Also have a complete known working FI we can pull parts to trouble shoot with.

First thing to do is drain all the gas, inspect the tank for rust, change all fuel lines, and send the injectors to be cleaned before trying to start.

Well actually, should verify that the engine is not sized and will turn freely. I am not too far away and could come up to help.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) 100%.

Is it 1.8 Liter / L-Jet or 2.0 / D-Jet? Some here know the former, some know the latter, and a small number here are knowledgeable of both.

and yes, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png)

Edit, sorry, finally see 2.0 in the title of the thread.

Depending on what exactly you’re wanting to do, I can help and I’m not very far... in Burnsville. I have experience with both types of FI systems.

we were in Banner Elk with our annual September gathering of "Okteenerfest" for 2 years, 2015 and 2016. Great place great roads! hope we go back there again- did you see either gathering? anyway you found the right site to help you get going on this. More information will help - but a search will help you find most of what you need to know to try and get it going.
Was it parked inside or out?? take some pictures and post them, we all love to see new projects and barn finds brought back to life.
- I would pull fuel tank and drain it
- get as set of new vac lines , plugs, wires etc.
- replace fuel lines
- check MPS for vac, if not holding replace or rebuild
- drain oil filter etc replace fresh
- flush brake fluid and check for rusted up calipers, etc (safety first)!
-
- now check everywhere for mouse and critter nests , in longs airbox, glove box , in over around and under engine tin, and even in the muffler/heat exchangers.

I know I am missing something but that will get you started.

Phil

I would start by draining fuel system, put fresh gas in, charge battery, cycle the key on and off a few times to build fuel pressure, and check for leaks. If you find no fuel leaks, crank it over and see what happens.
