I pulled the horn ring off my '70 -6 and thought, "only two brown wires, one with a white stripe and one without. No problem remembering where they connect"....yea, right!
Okay, the brown wire with the white stripe has the female spade connector that slips on to the spade on the back of the horn ring. Which screw does the other solid brown wire with the grounding ring connect to? Does it go under one of the four screws that hold the clam shell on? |

But I am not at all familiar with an early six. |

Solid brown is ground. Brown/white is a switched ground. BTW, any wire with a white stripe is "switched"; either power or ground depending on the base color.

Yes, thanks, I understand the brown/white stripe is switched which is why it connects to the back of the horn contact ring.
I'm wondering about the solid brown ground wire. I think grounding it to the steering column via one of the clam shell screws is the right answer but just trying to confirm. |
