So I just finished rebuilding my 2056 and while I'm not done setting everything (carbs), it was idling pretty smooth around 1100 RPM. The temp on the CHT gauge raised to 300 after about 20 mins. Just checking if this is normal idle behavior. The stock temp gauge didn't go up much. Running 10/40 Brad Penn. 84 degrees and humid outside (car was in the garage)

Gas engines are not meant to be left idling like a diesel, they will actually overheat if left idling for long periods of time.
I agree it's normal.
