There was a guy in a copper 350Z behind him and went up alongside to do a visual. Fun to watch.

This was in PDX.

It wasn't me!

The orange is called Chrome Orange and it is actually a pearlescent paint. Really sharp up close!

There's a Lotus dealership I drive by if I choose to take the long route home from work. They have probably 20 Elise's in every different color there. My wife is particularly fond of the dark red/maroon? color.

I see a yellow one on central expressway in sunnyvale from time to time. I don't like how all the cool colors cost extra. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Careful challenging Q to a "cool stuff" competition. He is quite fomridable in that regard. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

475 HP of German power? If it ain't German... it's cheating...

How about German powered 3.2L, short stroke, 98mm P&Cs, 9.8:1 CR, 46mm Webers, Modified S-Cams, Electromotive Ignition - 265 HP

If you look closely at the picture I think you can make out the German beer in the background, does that count?

I took my friends VX220 (elise based) for a spin last weekend, it was incredible. I've driven the Elise and thought it was unmatchable...but this is something else. Plus it has some creature comforts ABS, airbag, leather etc. -still no carpets or magic windows though

Doesn't the VX get a 2.0 or 2.2 turbo GM engine? I don't know why GM doesn't release that puppy in the states. I suppose they would have trouble meeting demand -- isn't it actually built by Lotus??

That, my friend, is the decidedly non-German power plant that currently resides in my teener! The serpentine belt assembly is run off a custom ATI damper as a forethought to the eventual supercharger upgrade.

yeah thats it. Its got the motor it was crying out for (ferrari-360-slaying-quick ) although I hear the 190hp toyota US version is very good. Elises' are ten a penny in the UK....but they're still a brilliant car.

There is a shop supercharging the toyota motors near me, they claim 275bhp very streetable, I may do that after the transmission upgrade is done on the 914, that motor has played havoc with the 915 trans I currently have in it.

Forcedfed? I have their intake coming in tomorrow.

They have a 400HP version coming too....

And they are working on a N/A kit (intake, exhaust manifold, catback exhaust, and ECU reprogram. They are hoping for about 220 HP without having to go the turbo route.

I am sure you know about http://www.elisetalk.com

Sorta like 914club, but...

1. People are not as cool
2. Not as much fun
3. Too many rules
4. No one to poke fun at (like Miles)
5. They didn't like when I inserted Goat sounds (turn on your speakers) and hit the refresh button
6. People are not as cool!
