Just checked the dynamic timing on my '75 1.8 L-Jet four and found that it was at full advance and not retarding at idle. Took the 021 905 205 A-B distributor apart and found one of the two mechanical advance return springs had come off of its anchoring post. The spring that was loose has an elongated hook on one end and a circular loop on the other end, and as such it is a little longer than the other spring that remains attached to the other advance swing weight and I think it might be an incorrect part. The attached spring has circular loops on both ends and there is a very small slotted plate that fits over one of the anchor points to hold the end of the spring in place. This very small "keeper" plate is absent fron the anchor point of the spring that is no longer connected. Are springs and these little "keeper" plates for the spring anchor points available from anywhere? Probably should ditch this distributor and go the 123 route, but money is tight and I just bought a Pertronix unit for this one, plus it's not in bad shape.

Picture of "good" spring still attached with anchor "keeper" plate in place.

Picture of top of anchor post where the "keeper" plate would slide down onto and rotate to secure spring.

Hard to photograph these small parts.
Any advice or help sourcing these parts will be greatly appreciated.
