Hi Guys,

I just upgraded my original model 5000 to the 5000 SLX and shot this video of the process. Hope it's helpful.

Enjoy...

Nice, I was thinking of using this with my 4-post storage lift. Cheaper than 2 bridge jacks and portable(‘ish)

Glad you like the video. FWIW, the company says the new power units raise the frames a bit faster than the first generation...but it seems the same to me.

A few updates after a week or so...

The power unit leaked. Apparently they recently received a batch with bad seals. The company sent me a repair kit with a new tank and o-ring which was pretty simple to install. When purchasing, you may want to ask if your power unit has been tested...and if not, to ship the repair kit at the same time as your order.

Also had to bleed the frames mulitple times to get all the air out...but that's to be expected.

The longer SLX frames also need to be positioned just right to not interfere with the front tire on lifitng and to allow accesss to the engine bar bolts.

All in all, this is a great tool for working on our cars.

I set one of these up with Matt Plasket and they worked really well on his 914. Simple and pretty mobile for a lift. Easily taller then most jackstands would be, and certainly faster, easier and safer to get all 4 corners up.

My only wish would have been that the jack was a bit taller. But it is plenty tall to do an engine pull on a 914. IIRC, Matts had a 20 inch lift.

I've got one. It's been holding a 996 since last year.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Very nice unit for the money and the portability factor is nice.

Guess I need to get that engine swap done (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)
