This could be a problem too Andy. Spammers can use this feature and really create a mess.

They can already send PMs and emails to members once they signed up, in addition to post anywhere on the site.

You really think this is going to push them over the edge and get them all excited?

No, it doesn't.

I'm not questioning the admins or stirring anything up. I do cybertech security for a living. I can execute an example but I'm not an a-hat.

Just pointing something out.

I joined a long time ago so I don't know what a Guest can do vs. a member. It's a cool feature and i hope it works out.

Doesn't take long at all. I can pull 50 names a page. Drop them in a spreadsheet and sort them for the current active members. Voila I have 100s of member names to fire away. This is volume and takes a few minutes.

Again I think it's cool and I hope it all works out. All i am saying is that it can easily be exploited.

So you create one spam thread/post and tag 100 members. They all get annoyed and alert me and i find your spam post, kill it and burn your account to a crisp.

How exactly is that going to help you as a spammer?

While we're on the subject, can we do anything about that @jameshanks guy that posts nothing but ebay listings in the classifieds?
If I wanted to see ebay listings, I'd go to ebay. Not to mention that there's a subforum for that, but he's posting in the cars for sale section. The guy has 0 actual posts. It clogs up the classifieds from actual real members who are selling their cars.
