So I bought a seat from Garold at a discount because of a tear,
had the rip repaired at Barrett's in Traverse City, MI (Highly recommended although the cost of the seat now rivals a new one!) had the grommets for the seatbelts replaced (Thanks to Stefan at GT-Classics for graciously supplying new and improved pieces) BUT... I don't like the feel of the stock seatbelts over the outside margins of the seat and want to use the grommet slot holes in the seat. I have a 1974 and thus have retractable seatbelts. What has anyone used? I'm not interested in 5 point belts for racing. I'll just be driving. Thanks! Paul |

I also didn't want a race harness set up.
So I ordered new belts (from Seatbelt Planet) but specified belt, not the regular cable, on the female buckle end. I also went with a buckle that would pass through the seat openings so it's easier to take the seats out of the car. Note that my retractor mounting location has been changed but I don't see why this wouldn't work for you. PM me if you'd like to talk details. Chris Attached image(s) |
