If I was closer I would be tempted but would probably pass unless I could get it for 1k sans trans. But the 914 doesnt have a lot going for it.. Its going to need another 10k in work on the 914 just to get it ready for the engine (Suspension, Interior, Bodywork), and then you have all the engine related swap stuff.

The motor itself is a $500 motor all day, the trani isnt cheap (https://advancedautomotion.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/29), Clutch stuff isnt cheap. Wiring is a bitch on these cars (read my thread).

The engine cradle looks HEAVY. Looks like they took an A8 cradle and made it so it bolted to the 914.. Probably an extra 50lbs of unnecessary steel on there.

I have a feeling this will have a pretty low sell point.

All I can say is my wife has an S4 with that V8 engine in it...in sport mode it's a scary fast car on the street. And it's a rock solid motor.
