Hey guys,
I found some new VW door light switches (2 lug) to replace the broken 4 lugs I have.

Brown wires hook up to the light and complete the circuit.

Whats up with the red wires? Not seeing them on the diagram for a 1970. I'm thinking it was for the optional buzzer??

Thoughts?

Thx -RobAttached Image

Rob, I think you're exactly right.
That's what's on my 71 schematic.
It's for the buzzer when you leave your keys in the ignition switch and open the door.
Lots of times these 4 pole door switches fail or the buzzer fails.
Finding good 4 pole door switches is very hard.
They may be out there...but I've found that most don't work.

Agreed to all! I'm going to shrink wrap the buzzer wires and tuck them away. Buzzer is DOA anyway and I'd rather have working door lamps than nothing! Thanks for the input! -R
