The '71 is a beauty but also a bit of a mashup.
Most interesting is what appear to be Euro buckets under US lenses in the front.

When you say "bit of a mashup," I am curious to hear more? I think Dirk Layer was involved with that car, and it was at Auto Kennel a few years ago. Anyone know more about the car?

I had a 78 and 82 924 way back when they were new. Loved them despite their lack of power. Later traded them for a brand new 1983 944, another great car.

GLWS !

The Willow green 914/6 is nice.

Drizzle all day. Both sixes out in the rain as well as my car

Ferg, That is an amazing lightweight and I would love to download the Sothebys pics but they seem to have it blocked for download. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Anybody know how I can get those pics?
Thanks! I hope to make a clone one day.

Not sure what to make of the results. The Willow sold for $130 hammer, the Metallic for $80. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Auction was full of unexpected results. Super Porsche-interested crowd, but also a more Porsche-educated crowd. It was freeeeezing during the auction, not so much by a thermometer but in that to-the-bone kind of way despite the thermometer. Sitting next to one heavy hitter with a blanket over his head, I finally caved and went inside to warm up.

Even so, some results were REALLY strong. The 959 rally car and Project Gold were stunning results, at $5.4M and $3.1M respectively, while our own Ferg did very, very well with his 924. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) It was also great to meet him...what a cool dude.

But then, this is often the case with 914 people...

Looks like some strong prices and a lot of sales. Was this a reserve or no reserve auction? BTW, Mecum Auctions just had an auction last weekend in Chicago and Walter Payton’s 1979 911 Turbo sold for $324,500.

Congrats on the sell price of the 924 Ferg!!

Interesting that it appears the 356 prices have leveled off and didnt raise much like the rest of the Pcars.

speedster prices have been on the decline for a while now. The exception being the original paint that brought 494k that example was really impressive and deserved the big $.

The deal of the sale in my opinion was this car. My paddle would have went up if my car had sold before it in the run order.

I think you are right. We sold a similar one last year for $80K. I'm not a big targa fan but I think it looks better on the longhoods than the later cars.
