Welcome !!
This was a popular swap in the rail buggy crowds. 2.0l and 2.3 are kick ass motors, built for a turbo. I used to "specislize" in Merkur 2.3 turbos in my area. 400hp is obtainable, 200-250hp is still very reliable if built rite. Later Joe (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) |

914turboford....yea, but his install is "different", he mounted the motor sideways and used an Escort FWD transmission...creative, but I bet he is having a helluva time selling the car unless he damn gives the thing away....too much cutting and modification to the chassis for me.....I'd get the adapter plate from KEP and mount it the normal direction........ a few Ford 5.0 conversions have been done, as well as an early 289...there is also a guy that used a ford 3.8 supercharged motor in his 914 |
