So we made some progress on the car on lots of little items but encountered some more problems.
1 Dragging rear right caliper. Could be a swollen flex line or sticky piston. I have a rebuilt caliper.

2. Leaking fuel pump. I have a rebuild three port pump.

3. Still have the leaking injector. Have a rail and injector assembly.

4. Need the fuel lines replaced front to rear with ethanol compatible line. I have a 25 ft roll.

5. Air flap assembly located in the top of the fan shroud is missing. Real mystery as the engine is reported to never have been out of the car. With it missing the air bypasses the oil cooler and should greatly affect oil temperatures.

Plan was to have i operational by the 22nd for a n engagement photo shoot. Not going to happen.

I posted a few months ago of an original owner 1973 914 that my grandson discovered.

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=329074&hl=

She is the widow of the man who bought it new in 1973. He dies in an industrial accident in 1995 and the car has been used little since then It needs a complete inspection and at least two fuel injectors replaced.
Her son is getting married at the end of the month and wants to use the car in wedding photos.

She needs the car safe to drive soon. Due to financial assistance to two ailing relative she has little money to put in the car now.

Oscar the Great has stepped up to offer his place to work on the car.
We want to make this a light work party and training session of those with less experience.

The plan is to inspect the car for safety issues and cosmetics. We got it running and found a leaking fuel injector. I have a pair of injectors on a rail with new seals.
I expect the fuel lines to all need replacing.
We are going to use Jeff Bowlsby's inspection list. Thank you Jeff.

http://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/zTN_Gen_914CAF.pdf

This will be a come and help and learn. We will only tackle jobs that can be completed that day. I expect all the fuel lines to need replacement.

Time and date are 8-12 Sunday Oct 7 at Oscars place.

I'll try to be there too. My mom passed away and her funeral is Saturday night.

If I'm not there, I'm there in spirit.

@Larmo63

Same here.... I know that what you are going through right now is very difficult, just know that all of us here are here for you. I am truly sorry for your loss.

We totally understand if you can't make it but you know you are welcomed to stop by.

Love the idea and the spirit.
Wish I could help.
To meet some of you would be a bonus.
The commute kills it.

Great Don-

I have your re-chromed bumpers waiting for you.
Also have a bumper ready for Jim @banananose914 should he decide to join us.

Thanks to all. To Oscar for lending the use of his garage and hospitality, Jeffery for donating the bumperettes, and all the work everyone put in.
Special thanks to Jim @banananose914 for letting Matty play with his taser. I mean, what could possibly go wrong with a 10 year old and a 10 volt taser ? He loved it.

Thanks to @bdstone914 for setting this up and @ValcoOscar for ther use of the facilities. Nothing better than helping out a fellow 914 owner, especially when you are part of the L96M Club!

Sorry to hear about your mom, Goob. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Please accept Dianne's and my condolences.

We had a tough year in 2017 ... lost my oldest brother in February, and my mom in July.
