I found this pic a while back and fell in love with the car. As I dream and plan about the car I'm having PMB do when its my turn in line, I think about what a flared 914 would look like in this color.

Does anyone know what the color code is? What its name is?

TIA,
-sean

My guess is

Porsche 911 (930) Turbo 3.3 Oak Green Metallic

Waiting for your PMB car is well as a song goes " It's been a long time been a long time,
Been a long, lonely, lonely lonely lonely lonely, time
Yes it has" but one of the very best shops doing 914s.

Thanks guys!

Oak Green was my best guess so far, as well.

I just sent Singer an email and link to the photo. Hopefully they'll chime in. =)

I am a bit disappointed they would not share the color with you. Seems a bit petty.

I can understand. Their clients pay half a mill + for exclusivity. They don’t want copycats or at least they aren’t going to hand over the recipe for the secret sauce.

I know of one that went for $800,000. It started out around $625,000 2 years ago but the owner made change orders.
Still don't get these cars at all and I suppose I never will. Alois Ruf makes a car that will run circles around it.
The rear tire/wheel combination reminds me of a 2WD "pulling truck". Not at all attractive. The look is unbalanced.

"exclusivity" as in:

Hey, look at my car, i just paid $500k for it and guess what, i won't tell you what color it is!
But please, come over here and *look* at it, because i paid so much money for it just to show it off, you know epeen and all that.
But no, even after you *looked* it all over closely, you still can't know what color it is, it "exclusive" and "secret". I paid for that, you know?

That really makes sense to you?

I once sent Wayne Carini an email about a paint color he used on a 356, I thought it would look good on my '50 GMC...he wouldn't share either. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

Fairway green is a little more saturated than the 911, and I think there's a tiny goldish hue under the green that the GM color doesn't show.

EyeKandy Olive Candy of Silver Base
I bet with the use of a gold base instead of silver, it'd produce a great color!

I'm sure they get asked about the engine, bodywork, leather interior, ect. It may not make sense to us but it's there business and it makes sense to them.
When I worked at salliemae, we couldn't disclose how the loans were considered. All we could say was it is a proprietary formula. It pissed people off but it was the company's secret sauce. It didn't have to make sense, it just was.

That is apples and oranges ...

The moment you take your car out of the garage people can *see* the color.
It's *visible*. In fact, they *want* it to be visible.

The damn thing is fricking puke green. so next time it's out in the open, someone please take a better picture and have your local paint shop match it to sample.
