I've always liked the Porsche 911 5 gauge dashboard and wish Porsche had carried it over to the 914. I've seen a few 914's over the last few years that have had a 911 style dash and figured one day I would put one in a 914.
I finally ordered one a few weeks ago and it arrived last week. Of course it needs to be upholstered before installation. The question now is what car to put it in? I'm thinking of looking for a solid west coast tub and doing a build to my tastes, I already have a couple 911 engines to choose from and one of mb911's 914-6 oil tanks, heat exchangers and engine tin. |

If you're starting from scratch, do the whole interior in the 911 style. I've seen a few 914's in that style that look very nice.

Funny, your thinking about building a car around a dash, I’m thinking of building a car around some gauges.

Love those green gauges. I think with some good led backlights that would be awesome. I had my binnacle for the three gauges powder coated with a black wrinkle finish. Those gauges would be perfect with the wrinkle.

It’s a smart way to think. You get the most important part in place and then build to support it. Some “designed by committee” projects mis on every level. |
