Yesterday, Jay Kjoller and I took the six to Chris Moore, Autobahn Extremist in Avon Lake, Ohio to have it dyno'd. Newly rebuilt 2.7. A data point for you should you find it helpful:
Disp: 2.687 Bore: 90 mm Stroke: 70.4 mm Comp Ratio: 10.8:1 1966 aluminum case JE Pistons DC30/Mod. Solex (Dougherty) cams Ports: int 35 mm, exh 38mm Carbs: PMO 40 venturies 40 34 main jets 135 A/C's 185 idle jets 50 idle airs 130 E-tubes F1H DFI twin spark set at: Init 2°, 3000 25°, 8000 5° Chris measured 183HP at the wheels, so, assuming 15% loss, 210HP at engine car runs great. a good compromise for a mostly street car. I am happy. Chris has a wealth of Porsche knowledge, experience and skill. Great shop! Like Jay, a perfectionist. I would not hesitate to take a Porsche there. |

On a Mustang dyno that's pretty respectable, they normally read about 5-7% less than a Dynojet or Dyna-pack.

Nice! Any reason that you stopped at 6 grand, looks like you were still making power at the cutoff.

Those aluminum cases make a great base for a hot rod motor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

You said "mostly street"....if you track it you may want to jet it richer based on the afr curve shown...

Looks more like the acceleration tip in at 2k (most dyno operators hold steady at 2k then floor it when they hit the green button) runs a bit lean then plays catch up but then corrects as it comes up on the the main jets as he ends up in the mid 12's / low 13's for most of the run.
Can you increase the accelerator pump output on a solex? What is your base timing and your max advance? |

Would have loved to be a part of that excercise. I live just west of there. You are correct that Chris runs a great shop. Met an talked with him at a couple of PCA events. Perfectionist for sure. |

What fuel were you using for the dyno run?
Thanks |
