Trans case broken at starter, What is causing this???? |

On one of my parts cars, the starter mounting area of the trans case has cracked with the starter attached. It was welded by the DPO. Now it is broken again at the weld. I know the case is trashed. But I'm curious what could be causing this to take place? I haven't pulled it apart yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Axle came off while the car was moving.
Its swings around and hits the starter. People leave the 2 pins out and it last about 100 miles before the bolts come loose. B |

Oh.. sorry answered the wrong part of the question.
I personally have never seen a welded tranny case (in this area) last. The starter has some good torque and will continue to break that "ear". B |

Save the trans. You or someone else might be able to use the internals for replacement parts.

I lost a complete drivetrain, plus one transaxle to that happening.
