This car had an Alpine head unit, two 200 watt amps and six speakers with crossovers.
I loved it as it was like sitting inside giant headphones. Of course I have nothing but Klipsch in the house (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) The car pictured must have some sweet sound.  |

30 years ago I had a nice low watt budget system that sounded pretty good. The front end was an Alpine cassette that went into an Alphasonic EQ, to a 50 watt amp to a pair of Minimus 7 speakers mounted on brackets in the stock location. The small tuned enclosures really helped, as did the EQ. I got lucky on the EQ as it just barely fit in the console, and had second inputs that I ended up using for my (at the time) new Sony portable CD player (pre-Walkman).
I always liked having an EQ in a 914 because when you took the roof off, the sound changes so much. |
