Guys, I want to fix this (or stop the problem for now). What do you recommend? Notice that the rust is on both sides--the PO filled it with bondo--what a great guy! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/clap.gif)

Burn off the fiberglass/goo... scrape it... grind it... sand it off.. then ospho, and seal with your favorite sealing primer.

After I clean it, do I need to get a piece of metal welded over the holes or is this a cadidate for a huge glob of JB weld! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

Greg, replace bondo with JB Weld (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Do it once, do it right, pedal to the metal.
