I'm considering buying this car, you may recall that this is the 2nd GTI I've been looking at. The first one has some issues that the seller is trying to get sorted. I found this one, same price, looks to be in nice condition.
Find as much as you can wrong with it, please. I didn't see any major flaws on the exterior, but I did see that both front doors' door cards need some love, the fabric is coming off them. Also, the shifter knob needs replaced. From my previous query, I know that I need to look out for chain tensioner and water pump issues. What else? I know it's no 914, but I also know that a lot of us Porsche guys have/had many VWs as well! 2009 GTI Tornado Red 92xxx miles - Dealer's Website 2009 Tornado Red GTI Carfax - CARFAX Website CARFAX is also available as a pdf download. That's a pretty nice looking car. I like 'em, and have thought about a TT coupe. But they all seem totally ragged out. The one you're looking at looks good in the pics, but I'd be interested to see if its as presented.
I need a car that's a little more versatile than a TT, however. And, yes, those are all 2.0 Turbo cars. I'd forgotten how much I like driving the small turbos. Uber-tuneable and just a blast to drive! Is this a turbo or inline 5 cyclinder car .and is it just me or are these The worlds crappy est guages on here .
