This 914 came to me with 6x16 Fuchs wheels with the rears riding on 1" thick 5 bolt adapters. The prior reworked the rear fenders into some sort of mini flare for tire clearance.
The flares are not working for me so I have some body work to do. I bought a pair of 5 lug hubs to move the wheels in but need to fix the 4 lug brake disks. I figured I'd have a go at drilling them myself so made up a template in CAD. The attached pdf will print to scale on a 8-1/2 x 11" printer..... if you have the need. I would grab some wheel arches from someone who has cut them off for steel flares. I believe it will be much easier to weld them on rather than try to reshape your existing arches. I would offer mine but I only have 3 so I don’t know if I have two fronts or two rears. I can check if that’s what you want. Mark

If you can't find others (and you're not in too much of a hurry), I'll be installing my GT flares in the near future and will have the cut offs for all four corners. They are in perfect shape.
PM me if you're interested. Chris |

Thank you for the offer, the fronts had been monkeyed with also but not nearly as extreme. I've got those looking really good with my hammer and dolly.
I'm going to have a go at the rears before I start cutting. I can heat shrink them if need be, wish me luck if not I'll be in touch. Tim |

I did one as a narrow slot in the aluminum trim at the back of the Targa bar that worked well and was difficult to see when off. I don't have any photos with me. I can take a picture when I am back from vacation next week. Essentially it was an1/8th inch slot about seven inches long that I cut down the center of the trim with a cutoff tool that followed the slight curve of the targa bar trim. I then took an LED strip light and taped it inside the trim with aluminum tape and snapped the trim back on. I got one of those connector tab splitter things and ran a wire from the drivers taillight up the loom and out though the outer edge of the engine grill to up under the sail trim to get to the top trim. you can't see the wire from the outside if you get it far enough over. -Andrew Speaking of...third brake lights??? |

I worked on one side today and got it back about 75% with various hammers and dollies. I'm now going to split it vertically in the center so that stretched metal has a place to go then I can trim out the excess and weld it back. I'll post a pic when I make more progress.

Close enough for bondo. Also the rear brake disc are fairly easy to drill.
