Thanks guys for all of the support, it's truly humbling! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)
Keep the votes coming please! Let me offer up some more details about the car, this time to explain some of its emotional significance. For nearly 15 years my cars were always looked after by one London based early Porsche specialist, a chap called Chris Turner. Chris first opened a Porsche workshop in the early 70s and, always being a hands on guy, he probably worked on more early Porsches than any other UK mechanic. He wasn't just knowledgeable, he was also one of the most generous guys you could meet. He regularly worked for free, and loaned tools and parts (oftentimes "permanent loans") to customers in need. Sadly we lost Chris to cancer in 2017. My 914 was actually one of the very last cars he worked on before shutting up shop. The DDK forum in the UK support a charity called Macmillan Cancer Support: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ddk10kfor10years In memory of Chris we had a batch of Chris' original window stickers printed, and raised over $500 for the charity, selling them to his ex customers: http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic...=41&t=60486 Needless to say, my car will always proudly display one of these stickers in the rear window...
