Hello folks,
I've a couple of questions that I've thought of whilst sipping tea and dismantling the Colonel. Is it wise, common practice, adviseable, to replace the original wiring? or, should I test it and then put it back if it all works? Are there any other parts which should be replaced, period? like relays, things like that? And finally, for now, the petrol tank....whats the best way to re condition that? looks quite cruddy in there, but very little rust seems to be present on either the outside, or the inside. I removed a couple of litres of VERY stinky old fuel already. Thanks in advance! Stoddy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif) |

Thanks gents, I'll check out the local radiator shop and take it from there.
It's best to remove the harness completely i'm guessing, when I do a full shell respray? Stoddy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

However a used harness is even harder to put back than a new one because it's a lot stiffer and more brittle. Unless you're going for a 100 point car you can get a good look by bagging the rear wiring at the firewall and the front wiring in the bottom of the gas tank well. |

Thanks Jonathan, I think I'll test the harness, then leave it in situ like you suggest.I remember re shelling an MGBGT and the harness was a complete pig to get back in. Thanks for the tip!
