I finally found the front end parts I need for my brake/wheel upgrade....what an ordeal this has been! It turns out that the seller doesn't want to ship them (struts, hubs, rotors, calipers) so I have to figure out how to get them home (Eugene, OR) from Silverdale, WA. Seller has offered to deliver to Tacoma or Olympia and I could meet him there or......anybody in a position to bring parts from Silverdale, Oly or Tacoma to Portland (Camp Craig's), Salem, or even Eugene? Free dinner, beer, parts trade, or whatever compensation (within reason) is on the table. Another possibility would be for someone to pick them up and put them on a Greydog for me. This guy is burnt out from parting and selling a complete 911....has no time or energy left to deal with shipping. Can't say as I blame him...been there. Any help or suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Randy |

Yes Eric....hubs and bearings arrived safely this morning (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/coffee.gif) and and...and they're BEAUTIFUL (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) . Thanks for the fine parts. Now if I can just get the front stuff here I Be Stylin. I bought the '86 SC struts w/new Konis, A calipers (rebuilt), hubs, and rotors(New). I probably paid too much but this stuff should be in great shape...hopefully plug n'play. Cores will be heading your way soon. Thanks for all the help,

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pray.gif) Thanks for all the suggestions guys...what a group! Rhodyguy...if a better soulution doesn't materialize I'll take you up on your offer...I just don't know when I'll have time to drive to Tacoma. Jeff, You're going to Silverdale area? If so maybe you could bring it to Korijo and he could bring to Hillsboro? I really don't know the Seattle area that well so I've little idea of the distances involved. Hillsboro would be doable for me in the next few days. If anyone up there is going to Craig's Camp soon that would work too. It's safe for me to visit him now because I don't have any money left (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
Thanks again all...with your help we'll work this out somehow. grateful for friends, Randy |

randy, if dave could fit it in the van, and you/we can figure a way to get it to tacoma, maybe dave could swing by and i'll load it up. he'll be passing within 5 miles of my house on the way down. closer if he uses the 405/167/512 route. he should as I-5 will be a nightmare for road paving through seattle. i could meet the guy on the other side of the narrows bridge, off peak hours, with the ford p/u. i'll pm you my phone #. have the guy call me and we'll see what we can do. it's all dependent on dave being sure he can haul it.

Ah...we're getting close! Dave, would it be possible to meet my seller at the ferry docks tomorrow night (his suggestion, he's going to Seattle tomorrow) and then someone or myself could meet up with you in Hillsboro whenever? If this is inconvenient for you we can keep trying other alternatives. I don't want this to be a PITA for anyone.
Thanks, Randy |

Hmmm...ferry docks at night. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif) It does sound ominous doesn't it? I haven't heard from Dave either since that suggestion. C'mon Dave...I'm not setting you up I promise. On a lighter note, I met with James (Morphenspectra) yesterday and he will be coming down to Eugene from his place (Amity, OR) to deliver a console and motor next week. He's willing to bring my parts down from there. Another piece in the puzzle found! This is starting to sound like "The Great Parts Relay" or something. This is all getting pretty complicated. Here's what I have: Seller can deliver to ferry docks tonight...or to Tacoma or Olympia "sometime". Kevin can accept from seller in Tacoma and transfer to Dave (if willing) and Dave can transport to Hillsboro on Tue or Wed. I can pick up in Hillsboro or James can deliver it with my other parts. It would be really cool to make this happen somehow...and a testament to club solidarity...but I feel kinda weird about asking so much of my newfound friends. If this is getting to be too much of a pain for anyone, I'd understand.

let's get the parts to my place and hammer out the rest of the details later. dave lives quite some distance from seattle proper (north bend). plus the stuff will be stuck in the van for a week. can the current owner meet me in the gig harbor area tomorrow?

randy, let's do this if we can. is the front end all in one piece or broken down into individual items? plans are to go down to PIR on the 3rd and embarrass myself. i think the pieces will fit in my car with some careful packing. the only hangup is me hooking up with the guy in silverdale. long drive up there in a truck that gets around 10 mpg.

I am heading down to Steilacomm(spelling?) on Sunday. If the parts are still in Seattle then, maybe I can at least get them to Kevin? Just another option. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
